Ironman for Smith-Magenis Syndrome
Ironman for Smith-Magenis Syndrome!
NEWS: TARGET INCREASED TO $25 000, LET'S TRY TO EXCEED IT
(initial target was $12 000)
On August 2, 2026, I will take on my very first Ironman in Ottawa: a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km marathon. But this race is about much more than a personal athletic challenge. I am doing it to support a cause that is very close to my heart: research into Smith-Magenis Syndrome (SMS), a rare genetic disorder that affects Emil, the son of my dear friends Étienne and Christine.
SMS impacts intellectual, behavioral, and physical development. Although it is rare and still relatively unknown, it has a significant daily impact on the families who live with this reality. Despite the challenges he faces, Emil is an extraordinary little boy who continues to make progress every day with inspiring determination.
All funds raised will support the research led by Dr. Wei-Hsiang Huang and his team at the Brain and Integrated Neuroscience Research (BRaIN) Program at the Montreal General Hospital. Their work offers real hope for improving the quality of life of people living with SMS and may also advance our understanding of other neurodevelopmental disorders.
My goal is to turn every kilometre of this journey into meaningful support for this important cause.
Corporate Donation Opportunities
I am offering three corporate donation opportunities of $5,000 each (OFFER SOLD OUT).
In recognition of your support, your company logo will be displayed on my race gear, and your contribution will be publicly acknowledged throughout this journey, and we can demonstrate our collective commitment to a cause that has the power to change lives.
Every donation matters. Every word of encouragement matters.
Together, we can help bring hope to everyone affected by Smith-Magenis Syndrome. ❤
